Ever wondered why I chose a magazine, an not a blog, as format for GizMag? To be honest, me too.

But there is a very simple and short explanation. A few years ago, I did a thesis on DVD-magazines. Back then, I described a magazine as bundled articles reflecting a certain opinion, or a publication that gives you background information on a definite topic. A magazine is also published periodically. And to me, a blog is more like a daily rambling of thoughts. So there you go. To list some weekly neat stuff, I thought it would be cooler to put this in a magazine.

And also. I ♥ magazines. :)

- In these series of GizMag Explained I will try to answer some questions I got in the past about the magazine.

Hi :)

I stumbled upon your magazine a short while back when I found a link at Hongkiat.com..
Just came over to say this is great work. Keep it up!
and I ♥ Magazines too :)

Even if you can get great stuff in a website, or blog, make it interactive and so on.. sometimes its simply great to be having the magazine on your hard disk and being able to go through it at leisure.. page by page ;)

Thanks again :)

Thanks!

That’s exactly what I believe too. As much as I love the web, it’s still nice to download something, so you can manage and archive it yourself.

Yes!

It gives you an appealing sense of “owning” something :D

Anyway, I don’t want to turn this into a chat thread! ;) I’d rather disappear now, in the meanwhile I will be waiting for PDFMAG#5 :)

See you and keep up the good work!
